What's Happening Now?
Mosaic? Mosaic (Interview with Michael Martelle) is the friendly moniker we've given to the Enterprise Systems Replacement Project (ESRP), a campus-wide endeavor that will, over time, involve the replacement of most of the aged administrative computer systems on the University of Arizona campus. Before we're through, the four key areas- Student Administration, Financials, Human Resources / Payroll, and Research Administration - will receive a significant upgrade. In addition, we will implement a Business Intelligence solution to adapt to changing administrative systems and to greatly expand the availability of business information to managers and executives. (Who Benefits?)
Why? The University's technology infrastructure is out of date! In fact, some of our systems are almost 30 years old. And they can't keep pace with the continually escalating need for business intelligence, research tracking, and reliable administration of HR/payroll, finances, research and student records. (Is there really a need?)
Where do things stand now? The project is currently in the implementation phase. Based on our detailed budgets, key technology decisions, approved project plans and staffing scenarios we are now in various stages of the project implementation for the Financial System, Research Administration, Human Resources System, and the most recent launch of the Student Administration System. Timelines are available for each of the four initiatives that are currently in progress.
