Future of Research Administration

The Future of Research Administration at the UA:

Version 2.0 of Kuali Coeus software will include an Award Tracking module, Institutional Review Board (IRB) module, and Conflict of Interest (COI) module. This version is scheduled to be released by the Kuali Foundation in the fall of ’09 and is tentatively scheduled for a UA implementation in late 2009 or early 2010. 

This version will integrate with the Kuali Financial System through data feeds and the sharing of information such as KIM. Full implementation of version 2.0 will accommodate all the functionality currently available in UA’s SPINS program, and will allow UA to retire SPINS.

Our Research Administration system will become a complete ‘cradle to grave’ research administration system, covering the entire life cycle of a sponsored award. For additional system modules being developed in the future, please see the Research Administration Development Timeline.
