The Office of Real Estate Administration (REA) is dedicated to the efficient management of The University of Arizona's physical space resources and real property in support of the institution's mission.
REA is entrusted with the task of cataloging and maintaining all records and files that relate to the management of the University’s Real Estate portfolio. During the July 2009 Space Committee meeting it was decided that the University needed a more comprehensive and robust software system to efficiently manage that task and agreed to acquire and implement an Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) developed by ARCHIBUS, Inc.
With the power and flexibility of the ARCHIBUS software, the University will have a tool which will improve its ability to assess space efficiencies and evaluate true costs associated with space usage. Through the use of integrated ARCHIBUS modules it will also improve the ability to manage its property and leases. The ARCHIBUS application will be known as UAccess Space.
The UAccess Space application has a web based interface and will allow department managers to use their net-ids to connect to the site. The interface will allow the user to better assess space usage through a new color enhanced view providing graphic overviews of floor and room area details. It will also allow users to create and view customized reports on a real-time basis.
